I am a girl who loves color. My make-up case (no lie-it’s a Caboodle) overflows with eyeshadows and eyeliners in almost every shade. It’s a borderline Hoarder situation. Right now I am in the midst of changing my look for the fall (goodbye teal eyeliner…I really couldn’t pull if off anyways) but instead of browns or golds, I am leaning towards plummy purples. Purple goes with brown, black, or even grey, so it’s a great pop of color to incorporate into your wardrobe as the weather turns cooler.
If your closet consists of lots of neutrals, adding some color to your look can be as simple as changing your eyeliner or nail polish. Here are a few of my personal favorites:
Smashbox Photo Op Eyeshadow Trio in Cover Shoot
This trio consists of Flirt (a pink beige with silver flecks), Dusk (matte smoky purple), and Haze (a very light, shimmery purple). Smashbox is definitely not the cheapest eyeshadow by any means, but it’s very long lasting, blends smoothly and the colors are gorgeous.
If you’re looking for something cheaper, you can get this for around $5. There are three eyeshadows for creating a smoky eye, and an eyeliner shade to apply at your lash line. I own this and it’s one of my favorites.
Urban Decay 24/7 pencils are one of my favorites. They go on creamy and easily draw a fine line or can be smudged. They’re also waterproof and stay on all day long. Crash is a really pretty deep purple, it draws attention without looking trashy.
I love Essie Nail Polish. The bottles are cute and little, the shades are unique, and you can buy them at Wal Mart! Sexy Divide is a deep purple with shimmer and it’s really pretty.
Give yourself a super cute manicure by applying a light colored top coat and dabbing glitter on just the tips of your nails.
Four mini bottles of gorgeous shades (my favorite is the glittery one): Just A Little Dangerous, It’s Bouquet With Me, Let Them Eat Fruitcake, and Dear Diary. These would work through the winter as well. I love them!!
So there you go, a little bit of purple and sparkle to brighten up your fall. What shades are you loving this season?
