Last week’s episode of American Horror was one of my favorites so far…and we learned A LOT about Tate.
The episode started out with Ben and Vivian rushing home from the hospital to find that Violet isn’t home. They immediately panic, but Violet calls her mom to let her know she’s out with friends. Friends meaning her creepy ghost boyfriend Tate.
Meanwhile, Ben is having some issues. Dead Hayden is at the door and Burn Face shows up again wanting his $1000. Ben shuts the door in Hayden’s face (um yeah…way to solve that problem) and whacks Burn Face in the head with a shovel. Ben thinks Burn Face is in cahoots with Lovah Hayden to blackmail him and he is not happy.
Meanwhile, Vivian decides to take a bath. The perfectly logical thing to do after a pregnancy scare, a fight with your husband, and crazy people all up in yo house, right?
While she’s running the bath, Hayden calls and tells Vivian to ask Ben about Boston. Vivian hangs up and notices the words “ASK HIM” written in the steam on the mirror. Creepy, much? One word, Vivian…RUN.
Out on their lovely beach date, things are heating up between Tate and Hayden. However–they are interrupted by some former acquaintances of Tate’s, who appear to be wearing very realistic gore make-up. Tate pretends not to know them but it’s obvious he is hiding something. He tries to avoid the situation by taking Violet home, but they only follow them. They urge Tate to “tell her the truth” but he pretends to be confused. He eventually runs away, with the teenagers chasing after him.
It’s fairly obvious that they are not wearing costumes, but are ghosts and were victims of a massacre. I guess those “dreams” Tate speaks of in his therapy sessions are really “memories” instead?
Constance invites Violet over for tea and reveals that Tate was her son and Addie’s brother. Of course, now Addie is dead and Constance begs Violet not to tell Tate. Violet (not the sharpest tool in the shed), still doesn’t realize that something is up and Tate is a ghost, and promises not to tell him.
I’m wondering if Addie will come back as a ghost and Tate will find out that way? If you remember, a few episodes back Addie said she would never want to be a ghost…so if she DOES come back, I have a feeling she won’t be too happy.
In the basement, Burn Face and a very angry Hayden knock Ben out and tie him up. Hayden then goes in search of Vivian so she can explain exactly what happened in Boston.
So…we’ve got Violet having tea with Crazy Constance, Burn Face wreaking havoc (still no idea WHY), Vivian (who never did take her bath) wandering the house looking for Hayden, Ben tied up in the basement, Tate being chased by angry ghost ex-classmates, and Hayden searching the house for Vivian.
Mmmhmm…perfectly normal.
Hayden and Vivian finally meet up and it is revealed that Vivian is pregnant. Angry, hurt, and incredibly rotten smelling (I imagine) Hayden picks up a shard of glass and heads towards Vivian, planning to cut the baby out of her. Ben, who was freed by Nora (who it appears has the job of protecting the baby) walks in just in time to stop her, and during the confrontation, admits that he saw and slept with Hayden after he said he did not.
The security guard shows up just in time to haul Hayden off to jail. But when he gets to the police station and opens the back door of the car to let her out, she is gone. I have a guess as to where she was headed, don’t you?
As the sun rises and Halloween ends, the ghosts head back to the house of horrors, their yearly day pass having expired.

Latex man…I don’t think he’s Tate, so who is he?
Violet tried to give her V Card to a Murderous Ghost. Will she be grounded for life? No, because her parents are idiots who obviously didn’t teach her to have a brain.

What will happen when Tate finds out that Addie is dead?
Will Mr. Hottie Security Guard come patrol my house too? Just saying…
There’s all kinds of crazy going on and I’d love to hear your thoughts!! American Horror Story airs Wednesday nights at 10 eastern on FX.
Ok, seriously on Mr. Hottie Security Guard, I mean I get scared too at my house. I don’t think there are any ghosts there, but I mean I still need a security guard! I think the baby Vivian is carrying is Nora’s baby and that Latex Man may be Nora’s husband and this is their baby coming back? (Still so confused by Latex Man). And how can Addy not come back and wear that scary mask? I figured that was the whole reason they brought the scary mask in. But really, I have no idea and they have totally drawn into this show that I only end up watching half of because the other half of the time I’m hiding behind my blankie!
Seriously LOVE this show. I’m a sucker for horror genre anyway, but it’s so easy to get caught up in all the twists and turns in this series. Now, if only FX didn’t have so many commercials and I could watch it uninterrupted.
I don’t think Addy is going to come back as a ghost. She had already died before Constance was able to get her to the Murder House lawn, so she isn’t tied to the house like Tate, Nora, Moira, etc.
I think Latex Man is either Nora’s husband or Constance’s husband (the one she killed).
I thought the scene with all of the ghosts walking back to the Murder House was an excellent scene. It gave me goosebumps.
No mention of the microwave scene?? I gasped.
I am quite obsessed with this show. I LOVE it… It is my “adult” time after my 2 & 3 year old go to bed. It makes my tummy nervous every week and I can barely watch it by myself. My sister wife (my BFF who is staying with me for a short period of time) and I watch it weekly and barely breath the whole time. I’ve been trying to get my husband to watch it and he will not take the time, he’s killing me. He’s missing out on such excitement. By the way latex man scares the pee out of me every time I see him… I’m excited to see how they will keep this show going with more characters..
