Furthering the debate on Team Edward vs. Team Jacob we decided to be big old dorks and make our own “Team” shirts.
They’re totally DIY and sew-free, for those of us who are domestically challenged.
Make them and wear them proudly…
Ok, Team Edward.
All you need is a shirt, some iron-on letters (one set plain, one set sparkly), an iron-on sparkly sheet, which I found at Michaels…but you can also get HERE, and a bleach pen.
Start with the bleach pen. Practice a few times on scrap paper, sometimes there are air bubbles, so just practice and get a smooth flow.
Put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt so it doesn’t leak through to the other side and then write away!
After you have your design, let it sit. Mine sat for about 2 1/2 hours, but I know Kristan’s didn’t take as long. It really depends on how white you want the design. Less time produces a darker color, more time produces a more white color.
The first picture I just wrote it, the second it is after about 2 1 /2 hours (you can see it bleeds a bit) and the third is after I rinsed the bleach off with cold water and ran it through the laundry.
When you are done with your bleach pen, and your shirt is washed and dried you can iron on your letters.
The heart is made from the glitter sheets. These are fun because you can cut them into any shape you want. Follow the instructions on the sheet, by pulling off the clear top and then iron on using a towel in-between the shirt and the iron.
Then I ironed on the “Vampires Sparkle” following the instructions on the packages that they came in.
I used some more of the red glitter paper to make fang marks and blood.
Ok, Team Jacob (aka SMART PEOPLE)
This is super simple. All you need is a black t-shirt (I used a long sleeve Old Navy Tee), and a bleach pen.

If you want a super cute matching flower to clip on to the collar, you can find the tutorial and material list on THIS post I did last week. They’re super easy, really inexpensive, and can be worn on your shirt, clipped to a scarf or purse, or in your hair. I used red poly/satin, black mesh, and a glittery gunmetal fabric that I found at Hobby Lobby.

Using scissors or a rotary cutter, cut some slashes in your shirt. The idea is to make it look like you were attacked by a handsome wolf. And by attacked, I mean the good kind. Not the kind where you end up bloody with half of your face horribly disfigured.
If you use a rotary cutter, make sure you have a mat between the front and back of the shirt so you don’t cut through to the second layer.

Place a piece of cardboard between the shirt layers so the bleach doesn’t soak through. Then write your letters on with the bleach pen. I wrote mine all jaggedy and crooked because that’s how I think wolf would write it. You know, because it’s hard to hold a pen with furry paws.
Once the letters are the shade you want, rinse the bleach off in your sink with cold water. I left my bleach on for about 20 minutes. I didn’t want it totally white, I liked the orange-ey look.

Wear over a red tank top and clip your flower to the collar. And look really tough like a person who hangs out with wolves.
Regardless of your team, you can totally rock a cute shirt to the premier of Breaking Dawn!! Happy Twilight Week!!

I am sorry but there just isn’t any contest between the 2 men…Edward is clearly attractive and Jacob is clearly not! But, both of your shirts are super-cute!
Too cute!!!! Love them!!
Love this. I want to make the Team Edward one
LOVE!!! *Team JACOB!!!* although I think both shirts are super cute!
Cute! Love them both too!
I’m so making the Edward shirt, love it (and him). The Jacob shirt is cute too but I’m Team Edward all the way. BTW ladies, if you want a grown up vampire read, try out the The Black Daggar Brotherhood series by JR Ward, these are hot vampires who are all grown up.
Team Jacob! Well, really team Taylor! Love the fun shirt ideas!
How adorable are you two?? Like, for realz.
I would have to make both shirts, because I’m one of those annoying people who can’t pick…Edward or Jacob?? Jacob or Edward??? I JUST DON’T KNOW!! ANd I get all deep about the decision, too…like, bringing fate into question and stuff.
So. Yeah. Both tees for me, but I’d have to add sparkle to my Jacob tee – I don’t care if werewolves don’t sparkle, I do.
I’m buying the stuff for a sparkly flower today, though! Can’t wait!!
Team Jacob all the way! I do love both the shirts though. This will show you my maturity level, but I totally love the fang marks on your chest, teehee. See I just proved I’m young enough for these books!
Both shirts are super cute! But I’m with the other Team Edward girls! WAHOOOO…sexy, sparkly, romantic vampires make my day!!! I actually think I’m just Team Cullen. Cuz all of the Cullen boys are secksee!
Love.
Both shirts are super fun and creative!
I made my 2 kids Twilight shirts to wear this weekend… my 4 year old daughter got a ‘Team Jacob’ shirt (done with Jacob’s handwriting font and a cute little wolf paw) and my 1 year old son got a shirt that reads ‘I’ll be your Edward’ in the Twilight font with blood dripping from the letters
I did use my Silhouette to make stencils and then fabric paint though- but people without that could use the freezer paper stencil method.
I couldn’t give two hoots about vampires, werewolves, dawns breaking or whatever, but I LOVE the shirts (the details are fab), and you girls are just too cute!
Yes! Team Jacob
