So, ever been invited to a party and forget to buy a hostess gift? Then maybe you scrounged around the house for an unopened bottle of wine or a candle you could re-gift? No?
Err, yeah, me neither…
I mean, I’ve HEARD that happens to some people. Not me or you, but OTHER people…I had a friend who that happened to. Yeah, my friend regifted a candle, not me. I would never…
Well, I have a fun solution to anyone who needs a hostess gift in a pinch. Super easy and homemade, which we all know means you care more. It’s a fact.
Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub. Simple, versatile and cute.
I saw this idea first over at our friend, Bridget’s site, Bake at 350…check her version out too.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 16-16.5 oz jar. I prefer a wide mouthed jar, but use whatever you have on-hand.
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar (I used dark)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup grapeseed oil, olive oil or almond oil. I used grapeseed…which is supposed to be great for skin.
- 7-8 tsp pumpkin pie spice. If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, make your own, use THIS recipe.
- *optional 2 tsp vitamin E oil
First mix your sugars and pie spice together in a bowl, breaking any lumps.
Mix that all up until combined.
Finally wrap it with a pretty ribbon!
Done, instant gift.
If pumpkin spice isn’t your thing, leave it out! You could also add some lavender or peppermint oil for a different variation!
See, there’s no excuse for your friend to ever not have a hostess gift again!

I’m totally making that tonight!
This would be amazing to give away! Thank you!
Love it!! I’ve done some with epsom salts and oils before but didn’t think about using the sugars! I’d better not shower hungry using that delectable stuff!
Ooo…I think the pumpkin spice sounds delicious!!! I might need to whip up a batch for myself! Thanks for the shout-out!
This is an awesome idea! Love it.
I was up this morning at the butt crack of dawn making cinnamon rolls. During the first rise, when I usually set my alarm and go back to sleep, I made some pumpkin spice sugar rub. I then used it immediately on my hands and arms. I smell so freakin’ good, I just had to tell ya’ll how awesome you are. (Now I have 55 more minutes to catch a cat nap before it on on to the 2nd stage of cinnamon roll heaven!) I will be making this for all my girlfriends for Christmas. Thanks!
I absolutely LOVE this!
thats so cool i found this, last night i tried making sugar scrub cubes for the first time. love this, wish there was a way to scratch and sniff computer screens lol!
I have a weekly girl’s night where we take a sauna and make dinner at my house, so I decided to try to make some scrubs to make it more fun. I just made this one tonight, and it’s AWESOME I only had Walnut oil, so I used that, an it kind of overpowers the Pumpkin Spice smell, but it’s still really nice. Thank you so much!
I bet walnut oil was really lovely in this!
