December is going to be a fun month to plan cocktails for. All the yummy possibilities.
There are so many flavors that go with the cool, holiday weather I really can’t wait to get started!
December is a time when people eat, drink and spend more than we do any other time of year, so go for it! You’re not alone. There’s always the looming resolution to be made, so why not go out with a bang! Drink up people!
This cocktail is a little fruity, but not over the top. Too many fruity drinks for me does not a pleasant morning-after make, so I try to stick with yummy, but not quite so sugary cocktails. The Cranberry Fizz is perfect. And you can make it with diet soda, which means you can drink 2!
First you need to prep your cranberries.
1 cup of cranberries
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. water
Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Stir until the cranberries start to soften and split.
They will look like this.
You should do this step ahead, so the cranberries aren’t warm when you are ready to mix the drink.
To assemble drink place 2 tablespoons of the cooled cranberries in the bottom of your glass.
Add 1 oz Orange Vodka
1/2 oz. Cointreau or Grand Marnier
3-4 oz of Diet Sprite
Garnish with a sprig of mint, if desired.
