Gift Guide ~ Cooking!

Kristan and I both love to cook.

We both have families that insist on eating…day after day…as well as both of our baking blogs,  so our time in the kitchen is plentiful.

We wanted to share a few favorites with you for the chef in your life. :)

Obviously, my most favorite-ever kitchen appliance is my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer.  I am trying to convince my husband that I need an upgrade and I desperately want one in this color.  Raspberry Ice.

Along with the Kitchen Aid I really recommend getting this Beater Blade.   It scrapes the blades as you mix.  Anything that is a time saver is for me!

How adorable are these measuring cups?  The fun thing is they come in measuring spoons too!  Pink cupcakes make everything better :)

Now you always want to look cute when you’re in the kitchen.  I saw this adorable apron over at our friend Heather’s site this week and have been obsessing about it ever since.

And if you just can’t get enough owls, how about these adorable kitchen towels? I found them on etsy and I love them!

I adore vanilla bean paste.  I use it in cookies, cakes and frostings.  It adds a delicious vanilla flavor as well as vanilla beans speckled throughout your dessert.

I have been wanting one of these Cuisinart Panini Presses for AGES.  I’m hoping this might be the year!

My latest favorite cookbook is this adorable sweets filled one by our friend Jessie Oleson from CakeSpy.  It is the cutest book I have seen in SO long, filled with Toaster Pastry Ice Cream Sandwiches and Cupcake Stuffed Cupcakes.  Go buy it now.

Another good read, on the opposite end of the spectrum is our friend, Georgia’s book, Girl Hunter.  Her book is a journey, peppered with delicious recipes using real, organic fresh food.

Now if you’re looking for fun stocking stuffers you need to shop at ShopSweetLulu.  They have THE most adorable baking supplies and cuteness.  I am pretty much in love with everything they sell.  Some of my favorites are the cupcake stands, the stripey straws..and I am beyond obsessed with these milk bottles.

I hope that has given you a few fun ideas for the cook in your life…or a few ideas for things you can add to your own list :)

I’m so excited that I actually own two of the things on your list! I have had my Kitchen Aid stand mixer for a few years. Everyone knows how awesome they are so I don’t feel the urge to say anything else about it. However, I got the Cuisinart Panini Press last year for Christmas & the whole family absolutely loves it!!! It is used at least 4 or 5 times a week, every week. I have found a gazillion uses for it. It is truly worth every penny!!

I am so glad to hear you love it! That’s the reason that I have held out for so long..afraid another appliance is going to go to my pantry graveyard :(

I’ve not experimented with vanilla bean paste yet, but I want to.
