Are you ready for a family battle this week?
Last week we paired Jeremy Sisto and Jeremy Renner. Sisto won by a long shot on that one…I thought the race would be a bit closer…but so far I have been off by over half of these Whatta Man Challenges.
Good thing we’re not playing for money!
But this week I will put all my eggs in one basket. I feel like I can clearly determine the winner, but since I have been wrong pretty much every time I will leave it up to you.
We’re talking Wahlbergs this week.
Yep Donnie vs. Mark.
Who’s hotter?
Now, I have “known” Donnie longer. We had a bit of a relationship in the late 80s, early 90s. He was in a band that I was obsessed with in junior high, you might have heard of them? New Kids on the Block?
Anyway, even though I was more of a Joey girl, I recognized that Donnie was purty cute. He had the “bad boy from Boston” thing, but always seemed like a G rated version of a bad boy.
I mean when someone is singing about Hangin’Tough while wearing pinch rolled overalls with one strap unfastened you don’t really think of them as too “street”.
A few years later Donnie’s little brother Marky Mark made it big. He was in a “Funky Bunch” and they sang about “Good Vibrations”. I wasn’t a huge fan.
Then.
A little time went by and this happened…Donnie stayed in NKOTB and Marky decided to try on some Calvins.
Donnie was officially dead to me.
Mark dropped the funky bunch faster than he dropped his drawers and a movie star was born.
As grunge took over the early 90s and Joey McIntyre hit puberty NKOTB vanished from the spotlight.
In it’s place, the Wahlberg brothers both started their acting careers.
Mark’s took off faster, but Donnie’s has been slow and steady.
No more pants dropping, no more Hangin’ Tough harmonies…these brothers wanted to be taken seriously.
And nothing says serious more than a black and white shot…am I right?
Donnie did bit parts in The Sixth Sense while Wahlberg did full movie star roles in The Perfect Storm…both excellent, btw.
Let’s check out happier times, when they aren’t dead…or aren’t about to drown…

aw man, when you put them against each other it’s hard to decide…..love love love Mark in The Italian Job. And am loving Donnie on Blue Bloods. The tie breaker for me is Mark’s bod though!!
Not even close! Mark for sure. I’ll even forgive the bench pressing cinder blocks in the Good Vibrations video due to the Calvin’s photo.
No doubt Mark wins! But he creeped me out big time in the movie “Fear”.

In high school we won some sort of radio contest and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch played in our gym. There was a rumor that one of the girls a grade ahead of me hooked up with him, and I’m still jealous to this day if it’s true.

I have to go for Donnie! I just can’t get over the fact that Mark was so violent in his youth and ended up going to prison. He paid his debt, turned his back on it and grew the heck up, thankfully. But every time I see him – even in those Calvin Kleins – that’s the first thing I see.
Hands down – Mark!!! Donnie was cute in his New Kids days but Mark has aged more gracefully.

Mark is def hotter. But my heart belongs to Donnie…he was my fave NKOTB and I kissed his poster every night before bed.
Hmmm, I thought I had my mind made up too, but Donnie gets his cute on. However, I know what’s under Mark’s pristine suits. Wowza! Have you seen Date Night? Mmhmm, mmhmm… he still looks that Calvin add (maybe better) plus it was (can I say “hella” on here?) funny. So Mark gets my vote afterall.
I love watching Donnie on Blue Bloods on CBS. I wonder if Marky Mark had not done the Calvin if he would be so “popular?”

When I started reading your post I thought it’d be DONNY for sure. Then I looked at the pictures … both are SO fine! Finally I read the comments … I LOVE DONNY on Blue Bloods and I’m going with him. He has a look with those bedroom eyes that just melts me (and I’m OLD, but not dead)! lol PS: Mark was Live with Kelly this morning and I enjoyed seeing him … but I’m still voting for DONNY!!!
Donnie scared the crap outta me in NKOTB. Seriously thought he’d ax murder me in the night!! But once I saw him in The Sixth Sense, I was so proud of him, the he stole my heart in Band of Brothers. I vote for DONNIE!!

If you had asked me in the 90′s I would have said Marky Mark, cause I do love those “good vibrations”. If you would have asked me in the early 2000′s I still would have said Mark, cause Donnie’s career hadn’t really taken off yet and Mark was hitting it big with all those prime roles. If you were to ask me now? I would have to say that after watching him in Saw, Rizzoli & Isles, Blue Bloods, and THEN seeing one of the newer NKOTB videos (you know they’ve gotten back together and released some “mature” songs now) I would have to say that Donnie wins for me. He has the longer and steadier career that seems to keep going. And while he seems to always play cop he plays them so differently that you can tell that he has a good acting range. Now Mark could come out with a few movies in the next year or so that may sway me back, I have my eye on Contraband and Broken City, but for right now it’s all about Donnie.

When I was younger I was SUPER twisted between the two.. Mark when he was Marky Mark. Now im more partial to Donnie just because I know him now =)
