This stuff is so cool!
It’s really exactly as self-explanatory as the title.
I bought this nail polish by Layla called Magneffect. It has tiny, itty bitty specks of magnets in the polish…
Also with the Magneffect I have used Essie No Chips Ahead…it’s the best top coat and really helps prevent chipping.
On top of the nail polish is a circular magnet. This is what you will use to create the effects.
The directions on the bottle are very vague so I did a little research on my own on you tube to figure it out.
Don’t do a base coat. Not sure why, but it said it on a few sites and I had a friend who used the nail polish and she said the same thing.
So I started with a light coat on my clean nails. After you paint each nail immediately use the magnet over the wet polish for at least 5 seconds. I did it on the first and second coat to achieve a more dramatic look.
Here’s the first coat..it’s very light. Don’t worry about that, the second coat will really help.
Doing each finger individually takes a bit of time, but it’s not that big of a deal. You could even use a refrigerator magnet if you feel the magnet on the top of the bottle is not strong enough.
The second coat is when you will really see the magnets working…
Let it dry and apply your top coat. Again, I recommend Essie No Chips Ahead.
That’s it! How fun

These are really cool!! I’ve never heard of this polish before, but I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for being our guinea pig again.
I have seen a magnetic polish being sold at Ulta. I wasn’t sure how it would look, but now I can’t wait!
These are all so neat. I have a few of the China Glaze Magnetic polishes, and their magnet (bought separately) has 3 different ones you can hold over it to achieve different looks (starburst, lines, and something else…). Such a neat trend!
That turned out really cool – I should have bought some too. Thanks for trying it out first!
Neato!!!
