Hair Products — What I Use and Love

I am kind of a freak about hair products.

Mostly because I’m fully convinced that the right combination of products will give me the hair I’ve always dreamed of — shiny, strong, and nonfrizzy.  Every new product is potentially magic in a bottle, and I definitely don’t want to miss out on THE ONE.

The combination of products I’ve found now really works for me.  I’m sure it will change at some point, but I’ve found myself sticking to these for awhile and I’m really happy with the results.

My friend and hairdresser (yes, I actually get to have a friend cut and color my hair!!) uses this on me, and turned me into a total Kenra Blow Dry Spray convert.  This stuff is amazing.  It’s meant to protect your hair from the heat of the blow dryer, which it totally does.  My hair stays soft and relatively unfrizzy after blow drying which I love.  BUT, there is another benefit of using this product — it makes your hair dry FASTER.  I usually spray it in my wet hair and comb it through before applying my make up.  By the time my make up is on (10 minutes maybe), I can blow dry my hair in about a third of the normal time.  It smells great, too!!

Big Sexy Hair Power Play is great for adding a bit of volume to your hair.  After drying and styling, just sprinkle a bit at your roots (I usually just apply it at my crown or anywhere I might normally tease), and fluff with fingers.  It adds instant volume and if you catch it falling flat during the day, just give it another fluff.

I have struggled with finding a cream for fly aways that doesn’t leave my hair greasy or heavy, and Bed Head After Party is perfect.  I apply mine after drying my hair, usually focusing on any fly aways and my ends.  A bottle lasts me FOREVER, it’s lightweight, and smells good.  I will be using this stuff until they stop making it.

Last but not least, I always finish off with a spray or seven of Kenra Volume Hair Spray (25).  It’s got a nice firm hold without being TOO stiff, and a little goes a long way.  It’s great at keeping your hair looking nice all day long.

Those are my current can’t live without favorites.  What are yours?

that bed head after party stuff is a miracle worker – i use it every day and like you say it is non-greasy (unless you apply it to the roots) and works like a charm. the bottle also lasts forever – i use mine everyday (almost) and a bottle can last me up to 18 months :D its totally awesome

When I straighten my hair (which isn’t as often as I would like, as it takes so long!) I use this heat protect spray by VO5 ( and it works wonders on my hair. It makes my hair straight for around 3 days and smells nice :D. The price is good too and you don’t need much which is bonus!

Kenra “taffy” is what I use in lieu of your bed head party goop. My hairdresser uses the Big Sexy hairspray. I have been too cheap to buy it!

I am currently obsessed with “It’s a 10, Miricle leave-in product.” It is awesome!! I put it on my hair and my daughters hair after every shower and it makes combing out our hair a breeze!! I have to find that Bed Head stuff to have my daughter try.

I’ve used that a long time ago and I totally have been blanking on the name! It totally fixed my hair after it had been dyed and damaged. That’s great I’ll have to go find it now that I know the name. =P

Moroccan Oil…. absolutely wonderful! Doesn’t weigh your hair down, adds light moisture and cuts drying time in half! So love this stuff!!!!!!

I suffer from basically the same hair issues, so I ordered all four products from Amazon. I’m excited to try them out. Ever since the birth of my first chid my hair has been frizzy and dry. Thanks for post.
