Bubblegum Floats

If you ask me, Big Red is the most overlooked of all the soft drinks.

My husband won’t touch the stuff.

It’s red.  It tastes bubblegum-ey, what’s the problem?  It’s delicious!!

As a kid, Big Red Floats were one of my all time favorites.  So I decided to recreate these fun floats from my childhood.

They’d be perfect at a pink birthday party, wouldn’t they?

INGREDIENTS

Big Red Soda

Vanilla Ice Cream

Whipped Cream and Bubblegum Balls for garnish

Fill glasses or mason jars with a couple scoops of ice cream.  Top with soda, and swirl whipped cream on top.  Add a gumball for a fun garnish.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

Oh man, I haven’t had a Big Red in *forever*. We can’t really get it up here, since it’s made in Texas. I never really thought it tasted like bubble gum, but I guess you’re right. I can imagine it’s freaking fantastic with vanilla ice cream.

OH. MY. GOSH. I die! I LOVE bubblegum. My love for it is insane and I wish I could write some kind of sonnet about my love for bubblegum, but I don’t have time for that since I’m so busy wrapped up in my everlasting love for it. Too much? Sorry. I’m stoked about these floats!! &I totalllly forgot about Big Red soda!

Yes, Big Red is highly underrated. I remember moving to Texas and loving this soda. I didn’t drink any for a couple years and got a free one from HEB a few weeks ago. I drank it in in two and half days and I rarely drink soda. This will give me an excuse to buy more!

Big Red is king here in San Antonio, TX. People have Big Red and breakfast tacos, Big Red and Barbacoa tacos and the kids favorite, Big Red and Hot Cheetos. I never noticed it tasted like bubblegum (maybe because I grew up drinking it?) until we made a friend from the North try it and she described it that way. Either way, yum!

I love all that you make. It always looks so yummy. But I have to say that I also like your graphic designs by the pics. This one for the bubblegum floats looks so fitting. I was wondering if you could let me know which program you use and which font you used for the word bubblegum?

I found this a few weeks ago and finally tried it over the weekend. I must say, as someone who loves Root Beer Floats, this is one is pretty good too! I never thought Big Red Soda would be just as perfect! :)
