Sooo…
I don’t know what is wrong with me.
Last week, I sat down in the recliner and discovered there was nothing good on my DVR. I decided to go old school and (gasp!) watch something in REAL TIME (with commercials!!) and noticed that this show I’ve been hearing about, Parks and Recreation, was on.
I love SNL.
I love Amy Poehler.
I love funny things.
HOW HAVE I NOT BEEN WATCHING THIS SHOW??
One episode and I was totally sucked in. It’s hilarious, the cast is amazing, AND I spotted a couple of complete cuties, which never hurts a situation.
Which is why for this week’s Whatta Man, I bring you…
Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) vs Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott)
Obviously I have a lot of catching up to do (someone told me that I can watch Parks and Rec on Netflix, so I will be watching past seasons soon!!), but it looks like Ben is a very serious and hardworking state auditor AND Leslie’s (Amy Poehler) boyfriend. Chris is an overly energetic and health conscious City Manager.
I really love both characters, they are so fun to watch.
I have to say that one is more blatantly handsome, but the other is much more loveable once you see his character in action.
Gah.
Adorable, the both of them.
So today I have two questions:
Number one — do you watch Parks and Rec?
Number two — who gets your vote??
I can’t wait to see the results this week!!
P.S. Last week in the Old Dude Edition, Harrison Ford totally smoked Liam Neeson. This breaks my heart, as I will always love Liam in Love, Actually (one of the best movies of ALL TIME EVER EVER EVER).
I can’t decide between these two as I’m still stuck on Ron.

but seriously, 1) yes & 2) Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt) because as you said – that character makes him so darn lovable!

No, I’ve never watched, but ROB LOWE!!! (Maybe I am showing my age here.)
Also, I recently saw Adam in a movie which I DID.NOT.LIKE and can’t get over it quite yet. (Friend with Kids….don’t waste 2 hours of your life.)

I totally watch Parks and Rec! I love it. The writing is awesome, like laugh out loud funny and the actors are great. I so vote for Ben Wyatt. I mean Rob is handsome, but Ben’s character is adorable.
Rob Lowe has had my heart for years for a variety of reasons. Number one on that list being the time that I went to a taping of The West Wing and he came out afterwards to sign autographs wearing leather pants. Humana.
I don’t watch Parks and Rec, but I do love me some Rob Lowe. He’s one of those men who age REALLY well! YUM!
I don’t watch, but Rob Lowe wins my vote. I mean, hello! It’s Rob Lowe!! But if you’re asking for which character, I have no idea. But Rob would still probably win my vote.
I haven’t seen Parks and Rec but will check it out now. I was in a sneak preview audience of Love, Actually. It got a lukewarm response — which floored me — as I was convinced it would/should be a classic. (I do wish there was some editing — could have done with one or two less characters.) I LOVE Love, Actually and watch it anytime it’s on TV. (I lead a life of underprivilege and desperation and do not have a DVR or Netflix!) Also always watch You’ve Got Mail and Casablanca and . . . .

I have loved him since I was a teen so I have to go with Rob Lowe all the way!! FYI: his autobiography was pretty darn good and entertaining
I’ve never seen Parks and Rec but it’s on my list of things to watch.
I cannot get enough of this show! I re-watch my favorite episodes on Netflix every time I need a good laugh. I adore Ben. He totally cracks me up. My husband doesn’t think he is nearly as funny as I think he is. He says I just like him because he is an accountant, and I can relate because I am one, too. Anyway, I pick Ben.
BTW, for those of you who were fans of Boy Meets World, Adam Scott was Griff on that show.
I have been a big Rob Lowe fan since The West Wing. Favorite show ever, ever, ever. So even though I have never seen this show, I vote Rob.
Parks N Rec fans over here—Looooove it. Can’t believe you JUST found it! Every season can indeed be found on Netflix.

Love this show…first got hooked by watching it on Netflix! It’s the best! I have to say that while I love Ben’s character, Rob Lowe is smokin’ when he’s not playing a over enthusiastic endorphine junky!

Oh Em Gee. Where have you been? P&R is seriously my favorite show ever. It even knocked Gilmore Girls down to #2.This is practically impossible to choose because I am super in love with them both. Rob Lowe is a super hottie and you have to read his book if you haven’t already. Even better, listen to the audio book. It is read by Mr. Lowe himself and it is hilarious. But, my vote has to be for Ben Wyatt/Adam Scott. I’m a bit obsessed with him lately. Oh Bridget, I actually liked Friends With Kids. I first noticed him in Leap Year and now I just love him in P&R!!

. You should definitely go back and watch from the beginning, although the first season wasn’t quite as funny as the rest-but still funny. I can’t choose between these two men…find the episode last season where Ron spends some time with his ex-wife (Megan Mulally, his real life wife) where he loses the middle section of his mustache…hilarious!
Ok, apparently I have been living under a rock! First off – how did I NOT KNOW that Rob Lowe was on this show??? Had I have known that, I would totally have been watching it all of this time. Alas, I was clueless and therefore have never seen it. Now, I’m tempted to crank up the Netflix right here, right now on my cell phone! UGH! So, I’m guessing I don’t REALLY have to say this, but for the sake of my vote counting I most certainly will tell you I VOTE FOR ROB LOWE!!! Always, anytime……ahhhhhhhh.
I have watched Parks & Rec since it first came on and I am a loyal fan. I think it is one of the funniest shows on TV. I love the characters that Rob Lowe and Adam Scott play and they do it so well! However, I have had a “crush” on Rob Lowe forever so he’s my guy.

2) Adam Scott ALL THE WAY!! (Also loved “Party Down” on FX, which he played one of the main characters in.)
As for last week’s face-off I have to agree with you that Love, Actually is probably my fvorite movie of all time ever (and my husbamd’s too actually!)

It’ s close b/t him and Rob. He is hilarious, and I love hearing him say LITerally.
I think a vote between Ron Swanson and Andy might have been even tougher. Love those two (and I totally want a MouseRat t-shirt)! Kristan, you will love getting caught up on Netflix. I think seasons 2 and 3 were maybe the funniest.
2. Love Love, Actually! We try to watch it every year at Christmas time. Love all the dialogue between Colin Firth and Aurelia — ‘you learned English?’ ‘just in cases.’
Rob Lowe would ‘literally’ be my pick. Love his character and his enthusiasm. But I think you could do a few more whatta man’s with this cast – Tom Havorford, Ron Swanson, Andy Dwyer….LOVE them all!
Don’t get that show here but Rob Lowe now and always. <3
