I’m the first to admit that I jump on board almost any trend that comes along.
I mean…who am I to argue with an excuse to buy new stuff?
But every now and then, a trend comes along that I’m just not sure about. Sometimes I end up caving (remember when capris started to come back in the early 90′s? I swore I would NEVER wear those “short pants” — now I live in them), but other times, I remain steadfast in my disdain. Leather pants? Thank you, but NO.
This new “smoking slipper” trend is one that I’m not sure I can get into. I’ve heard that they are the new ballet slipper, which frightens me a bit because I practically LIVE in my ballet flats.
But these pointy, Hugh Heffner-esque shoes?
Yeah…I just don’t know.
Here are a few examples of the new “it” shoe. What are your thoughts — a DO or a DON’T?
These leopard print flats from Nine West are reasonably priced and are perfect for Fall. I really love leopard this time of year — it goes with almost any color, and adds a pop of pattern to an otherwise plain outfit.
These blue flats with pink piping from Dirty Laundry add just enough interest to your outfit without being too loud.
Although I am on the fence about the smoking slipper trend, these satin flats in peacock print are completely adorable. I don’t think I could pair these with skinny jeans, but I’d love them peeking out of a pair of boot cut or flares.
These kitty cat flats are really not my thing, but I’ve been seeing them on celebrities, so I had to include them. What do you think, would you wear them?
These sparkly flats by Fergalicious are under $50 and would brighten up even casual outfits.
These pink blinged out flats by Betsey Johnsons are my favorite out of the bunch. They’re pink and covered in rhinestones, hello…what else do you need in a shoe?
So. The smoking slipper — will you wear it and is it the new ballet flat? I want to hear your opinion!!
