Pop Culture 3/14

Happy Thursday, chickies!!

I’ve scoured the internets, and it appears that it was a slow week in Hollywood.  Boo.

However.  A few tiny things of note did happen, so let’s discuss.

Liam and Miley split?

It would appear that Miley and Liam have broken up.  Miley has been spotted partying sans ring, and Liam has been spotted partying in Australia…sans Miley.  Is it wrong that I desperately hope they are done for good?  I really don’t like Miley at all, sorry.  Liam, however…well.  He’s Gale.  What else do you need?

Anna Kendrick and Edgar Wright Split

I don’t know if this is real news, considering that I’ve never heard of this dude, but whatever.  It happened.  Incidentally, I love Anna Kendrick, so I hope she starts dating someone awesome soon.  Maybe Liam?

Gerard Butler confirms Brandi Glanville tryst

In news that has me shaking my head/crying/hurling in a bucket, Gerard Butler has confirmed Brandi Glanville’s story that she ummm….shared some sexy time with him.  Apparently it happened awhile back and was just a one time thing.  Brandi talked about the hook up on an episode of Watch What Happens Live and when confronted by paparazzi, Gerard denied it because he didn’t know her name.  After seeing a picture of her, he admitted that they did spend an afternoon together and sent her an angry text, confronting her for making it public.  Can’t say that I blame him for wanting to keep it a secret.  She’s not the classiest.

Sean and Catherine engaged

If you’re a Bachelor fan, you probably know by now that Sean Lowe proposed to Catherine in the season finale.  Apparently they are planning to wed very soon, and it will be televised on ABC.  OR SO THEY SAY.

It has also been announced that Sean will be on Dancing with the Stars.  I don’t normally watch, but I think I might have to check this season out.  I’m sure Shirtless Sean will be exploited as much as humanly possible.

Desiree to be Bachelorette

…and in other Bachelor news, Desiree will be the new Bachelorette!!  She seemed super sweet, so I hope the season goes well.  I’ll definitely be watching!!

This week in theaters:

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

My son Jon David is a huge fan of magic and has been doing magic tricks for years…so of course he sees this advertised and thinks he needs to see it.  Yeah…preeeeety sure it’s not appropriate for an 8 year old.  Honestly, I love Steve Carrell, but the movie doesn’t look good period.  I think I’ll pass, even on the rental.

The synopsis, according to Movie Insider:

Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt’s growing ego. But lately the duo’s greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they’ve grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there’s still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act—both onstage and off—if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is rated PG-13 for sexual content, dangerous stunts, a drug related incident, and language.

Have a happy Thursday!!

Even my thirteen year old… soon to be fourteen… (yikes!) was constantly saying how Liam could totally do better than Miley.

I agree, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone looks awful!

Can Brandi Glanville NOT find a shirt that fits? Yikes, gravity does not appear to be her friend.

      Right?! Kind of Terrifying.
The Bachelor on Dancing with the Stars: I think that getting engaged to a girl you pretend date on reality TV is kinda iffy anyway, but then if you take newly engaged dude, keep him on TV, and partner him with a beautiful dancer woman that he is forced to be with all time for months on end… sounds like bad news to me.

!! Considering some of the costumes should be made with band aids and dental floss — good luck on not having any pre-wedding fights there bachelor–
