Last week in our Friend’s edition, Chandler Bing won. Could it BE any more obvious? Kristan thought Joey stood a fighting chance, which made me point and laugh.
This week we’re going current TV, focusing on the men of the hit TV show, Nashville. Are you obsessed? I am.
I may or may not have downloaded the soundtrack, and I may or may not have thought about growing my hair like a mermaid’s, so I looked like Scarlett. Stop laughing.
Beyond all that, there are the men of the show. I mean, it ain’t bad over there, y’all.
Let’s take a look and see who’s your favorite…
From left to right we have (and I will only refer to them in their character names, as not to confuse my simple brain) Avery Barkley, Deacon Claybourne, Teddy Conrad and Gunnar Scott.
Let’s start with Avery.
Possibly my least favorite of the bunch and I’ll frankly be surprised if he gets one single vote. But you know, in all fairness I have to give them all a fair shot.
We know him as Scarlett’s ex boyfriend, who cheated on her with an agent. This guy is looking to make a name for himself at pretty much everyone’s expense.
I’m not a fan. Sorry.
Moving on, let’s talk about another man in Scarlett’s life. Her uncle. Deacon.
Deacon is a good guy. He is in love with Rayna (Tammy Taylor) and wears his years in the adorable crinkly lines around his eyes.
He is the backbone of the show, and needs a little happy in his life, don’t you think?
I’m rooting for him for sure.
We all want Deacon and Rayna to be together, but gah, they make it so hard!
Standing in between Rayna and Deacon is Teddy Conrad. Womp wompppp.
Teddy is married to Rayna (sorta) and has just become Mayor of Nashville.
He’s suit and tie pretty much all the time, EXCEPT when he’s cheating on Rayna with the annoying Peggy Kentor. Blah.
I guess he’s kinda cute. You know in a mayor-ish way.
Don’t think he’ll get many votes.
Finally let’s talk about Gunnar Scott.
Adorable, Gunnar Scott.
Totally in love with Scarlett. They sing together and I sit up and listen.
You just want everything to work out for this guy, right?
At the end of the last episode things got interesting between them and my heart did a little dance.
Love Gunnar. Also, can I just say that in real life he’s British…which kinda makes him hotter.
Ok, let’s take another look at all the men…

Can I say “all”? Ok, if I have to narrow it to one, I choose Deacon.. although he is (was) the dad on the Disney show “Jesse”, which was kind of a weird realization, but did not kill my crush on him.
Avery. I think he’s gorgeous.
I’ve never seen the show, but that Deacon is kinda hot! He’s got my vote

Gunnar
I watched the first few episodes of Nashville but I was put off when I found out that one boy is British and Scarlet is Australian. It just makes me sad. I didn’t want her to be Australian. I want that to be her REAL Loretta Lynn voice…
Anyway. Deacon wins, but close runner up for the British boy!
I think all the actors are responsible for the musical performances as well– Her voice is insane! Accents tend to wander off in music pretty often so I think that actually is her REAL Loretta Lynn voice? Help me out here people.
Toss up between Deacon & Gunnar for me.
I think I gotta go with Gunnar because he hasn’t run off with Juliette Barnes (yet).
I’m not against Australian country music singers (hello Keith Urban!). I think I was just disappointed when I found out she isn’t from Butcher Holler. Lol. She is pretty and I love her voice.

Seriously? Now I have to start watching this show, too? I just jumped on the Chicago Fire bandwagon (which is the best show EVER) and Pretty Little Liars (which is the best show EVER), but being a big, big fan of Tammy Taylor (who I want to be when I grow up) I was condsidering this show, but said “no, you watch too much tv, you should really read a book.” But, clearly, I need to watch more tv

While I LOVE Deacon, he can be a bit of a tramp sometimes too. And Gunnar is just the most loveable guy in the show.
If the writers make him do something to make him unlikeable, I might die.
Although I love watching Gunnar & Scarlett together, Deacon gets my vote! He is just HOT, HOT, HOT!!

Hard call between Deacon and Gunnar – Deacon is closer to my age so that would make me a cougar to Gunnar. I’ll go with Gunnar! I live in Nashville and watching this show and seeing places I know very well is so exciting.

I personally haven’t seen the show, but apparently there are some really hot guys that I am missing! I must say that Eric Close (Teddy Conrad) has always been a hottie in my book! One that I am now very fond of now is Deacon Claybourne. I think that he will get my vote because there is nothing sexier than a man showing his years with crinkly eyes!

How appropriate- I just flew in from Nashville and now I see it the theme. I vote for Deacon. He was a cutie ever since his days on Who’s Line is it Anyway. Boy howdy do some men age well!
