This Week in Pop Culture… 9/27

Happy Friday, ladies!!

This week we have a lot of female centered pop culture…almost too much to list!!

Let’s review:

Robert Pattinson is dating Dylan Penn — model and daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright.  I have to say, just the fact that she ISN’T K Stew has me REJOICING!!  Enough with the pouting and unwashed hair, K Stew.  Over it.

Nina Dobrev is dating Derek Hough!!  I really loved Nina and Ian Smolderholder (sighhhhh) together, but I do think she and Derek make a cute couple.  Hopefully it works out…he is her best friend’s (Julianne Hough) brother, so things COULD get awkward if there were problems.

After only THREE months of dating, Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting are engaged.  Kaley is one of the stars of The Big Bang Theory, and Ryan is a tennis star.  I hope it works out for them, I really like her!!

Season 5 of RHONJ will be the last for Caroline Manzo.  She will be starring in her own reality spin off on Bravo titled Manzo’d with Children.  I am not super interested in this, but I am sure I’ll end up watching.

Apparently Tina Fey suffered a very brief (as in…blink and you’d miss it) “wardrobe malfunction” while presenting at the Emmy’s.  It immediately began trending on Twitting, spurning a funny SNL promo.  Regardless of said “malfunction”…I think she looked HOT in that blue dress.  I love Tina Fey and her red carpet looks have really improved over the last year.

And I had to include this because my friend Bridget LOOOOVES Jon Hamm (so do I, but I think Bridget has me beat), apparently Jon has to have surgery to remove a polyp on a vocal cord.  Rum0rs have been flying that it is cancer, but he is adamant that that is completely untrue.

In theaters:

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

The synopsis, according to Movie Insider:

Cloudy 2 picks up where the first movie left off, with Flint Lockwood discovering that his evil machine which turns water into food “is still operating and now creating mutant food beasts. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Flint and his friends must embark on a dangerously delicious mission, battling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, apple pie-thons, double bacon cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world… again.

The synopsis, according to Movie Insider:

Set against the golden age of Formula 1 racing, RUSH portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed— James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl). Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

That’s it for this week!! Have a fabulous weekend!!
