This Week in Pop Culture

PicMonkey CollageThis has been a slow week.. which is good because I haven’t been online or near a tv very much at all.

So let’s talk about what made me pause this week…

Apparently Zac Ephron went to rehab…

1379526851_zac-efron-articleAllegedly he was battling a cocaine and alcohol problem and went to rehab to “get it under control”.  Can people please stop doing drugs now?  Please?  I’ve had enough, really.

Certainly we wish him all the best in his recovery.

In my own personal interest, this was the best news that came out this week…

GYI0062656253_Blake-Lively-Robyn-Lively-467Blake Lively’s older sister, Robin Lively who famously starred in Teen Witch, apparently recreated the “Finest Hour” dance from the movie as a surprise at her wedding.  My head just exploded.  If you haven’t seen the movie you must stop now and watch it.  It was my most favorite movie in 1990-ish…I honestly must have watched it 5,763 times.  So when I heard that Robin did this for her sister, I basically shed a tear.

Here’s the scene from the movie:

If only Robin Lively was my sister.

In other celebrity related news, Scoot Eastwood, son of Clint has come out as a secret hottie…

o-SCOTT-EASTWOOD-570Like whoa.  That’s all.

In train wreck and fame hungry news, looks like Lindsay Lohan is dating Matt Norris.

1379465290_lindsay-lohan-matt-nordgren-467Of course we all know Lindsay.  But Matt Norris was on a fantastically horrible reality show called Most Eligible Dallas.  Which, of course, I couldn’t take my eyes off of.

Anyhow, he’s dated Taylor from RHBH, Audrina Patridge from The Hills amongst others and is climbing his ladder to D List celebrity status.

Kinda-sorta.

This week at the movies:

A desperate father turns vigilante and abducts the man he suspects is behind the disappearance of his eight year old daughter and her best friend, after cops fail to find the little girls and release the suspect.

How far would you go to protect your child? Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, he may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?
