This Week in Pop Culture ~ 12/12

This week was an interesting one in the celebrity world.  Let’s talk a little bit about what interested me…

Click here for full list of the SAG noms and here for a full list of the GG noms.  Walter White better win for best actor in a TV Drama or I will die. Yep, die.

And how about this…

1386778837_emily-blunt-lgI guess I must have forgotten that Emily Blunt was even pregnant!  How cute is she?

Speaking of pregnancies…

1386805407_1376416869_kevin-federline-victoria-prince-articleTurns out Kevin Federline is expecting baby #6.  Just what the world needs..another Federline.

And in potential-baby gag-worthy news…

1386788447_mary-kate-olsen-olivier-sarkozy-467It was reported that Mary Kate Olsen wants to have babies with her 4,000 year old boyfriend.  Sick.

But let’s try and be happy…

1386097722_kate-winslet-467Kate Winslet gave birth on Saturday to a little baby boy!  Congrats to her!  The name hadn’t been released yet, but I’m hoping for a one syllable name if it has RocknRoll as a last name.

I’m thinking that Kate won’t be posting any pictures like this as her baby grows…

1386706162_gisele-bundchen-467Can we talk about this for one sec?  I seriously just gagged looking at this stupid picture.  And no I didn’t gag because she’s breastfeeding.  THAT is the LEAST offensive thing in this whole photo, if you ask me.  Apparently she calls this multi-tasking.

To me, it appears like she must only be multi-tasking her daydreams because she doesn’t seem to be DOING anything.  Sure, Giselle, it WOULD be easy if I had someone doing my nails and my hair and my make up..and all I had to do was sit there and ponder.

SO annoying, that whole situation.  But hey, way to NOT alienate other women Giselle.

In sad news it was announced that Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs are calling it quits…

1386815643_idina-menzel-taye-diggs-divorce_1I hate hearing this, but I have a neighbor down the street who was just waiting for her chance with Taye, so I know there must be a lot of ladies who may be a little excited for their chance :)

In theaters this week…

PicMonkey CollageAmerican Hustle

A fictional film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock our nation, American Hustle tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) who, along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams), is forced to work for a wild FBI agent, Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that’s as dangerous as it is enchanting. Jeremy Renner is Carmine Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con artists and Feds. Irving’s unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down.

Hours

Set during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and follows a father’s desperate attempt to keep his newborn daughter alive in the wake of the storm’s destruction.

Before sunrise on August 29, 2005, Nolan Hayes (Walker) arrives at a New Orleans hospital with his pregnant wife, Abigail (Rodriguez), who has gone into early labor. What should be one of the happiest days of Nolan’s life quickly spirals out of control when the birth goes tragically wrong and Hurricane Katrina ravages the hospital, forcing an evacuation. Nolan and his newborn baby are soon cut off from the world by power outages and rising flood waters. With his baby completely dependent on a ventilator Nolan faces one life-and-death decision after another, fighting to keep his daughter alive, as minute by agonizing minute passes…becoming unimaginable hours.

and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaog

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

Have a great weekend!!
