Whatta Man Monday — Sherlock Edition!!

Happy Monday!!

I don’t know about you , but I am SO ready to get into the swing of things this week!!  We had a snow/ice storm that cancelled two days of school last week…after being stuck inside, eating myself into a coma, I am ready to get back into a routine.

I’m also ready to kick everyone out and back to school/work. OMG I mean…

Anyways — last week Will Ferrell beat Ron Burgandy by a landslide.  Are any of us surprised?

This week, I am talking to all you nerdy girls.  You know who you are.  Although we all love the Ryan Goslings and Bradley Coopers, I can’t tell you how many times I get comments or emails asking for the…less than traditionally handsome.

So this one’s for you!!

Sherlock:  Sherlock vs Watson

Sherlock

For those of you unfamiliar with this show (I have to say, I’m not super familiar with BBC programs), Benedict Cumberbatch plays Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman plays Dr. Watson.

Sher1

You may also recognize Benedict from the latest Star Trek movie, and Martin from The Hobbit.

Sher2

I have to admit, I don’t find either of them particularly attractive…but after searching on Pinterest, it’s apparent that not everyone agrees.  There are many a board dedicated to the two of them.

Sher3Here they are with what I call their, “Honey, tell me about your day”, face.

Sher4

I call this face, “inside joke”.

Sher5

Black and white…

Sher6

And a soul gazing plea for your vote.

Who is it going to be?  Can’t wait to see the results on this one!!!

Have a very happy Monday!!

Sherlock is my favorite show, so I’m super excited! For what it’s worth, Benedict Cumberbatch is in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug playing Smaug the dragon. He will be in the one coming out next year playing the Necromancer, so Martin Freeman is not the only Hobbit star. :) Sherlock has been one of my favorite fictional characters since I was a little girl, and Smaug has been my favorite part of The Hobbit since I read it when I was 10, so my vote definitely goes to Benedict Cumberbatch.

Though I adore Martin, I lust for Benedict. That man could read the phone book and make it sound sexy with that amazing voice of his.

I think that once you see Benedict in something, it starts to make more sense. I knew nothing about him before Into Darkness came out. Saw it and started to get it. It’s the voice. His voice is so amazing.

I do love me some Martin Freeman too, but I had to go with Mr. Cumberbatch. :)

Oh, and Sherlock is a great show. Can’t wait until January 19!! You should look into it on Netflix. Three 90 minutes episodes per season. They’re like mini-movies.

Martin Freeman was in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy — horrid adaption of the book — but he was great. He was also in Love, Actually. He played the cute, shy guy who is a naked body double. I love him and Benedict in the updated Sherlock Holmes. Not sure if I approve of the radically updated Sherlock, but it is interesting. Thanks for giving us something different. I’m still waiting for a Ewan McGregor contest.

I had to pick Martin, only because I can’t get the horrible image of Benedict’s creepy mustached Paul Marshall from Atonement out of my head. Good lord, he was so skeezy in that movie! You should try some other BBC shows – Orphan Black is amazing, and I could write you a book about my feelings on Doctor Who!

I’m like you – neither one of them do it for me whatsoever, but my daughter (who is a Sherlock fanatic) is absolutely gobsmacked (did I really just type “gobsmacked”???) by B.C. so I will vote for him on her behalf. ;) My boyfriend teases her & will say something like, “When are we going to go see that movie w/ Beanhole Underpants in it? :P

Ok, can I nominate a man for Whatta Man Monday? What about the Scott twins from Property Brothers? I get lost in that show trying to decide which of the twins is hotter. 6’5″ tall dark and handsome. I’m so in!
