This Week in Pop Culture… 1/30

Well, it has been a relatively slow week in Pop Culture.  No major meltdowns, but Biebs WAS arrested again, so there’s that.  Let’s get started!!

Justin Bieber

Let’s just get this part over with.  Justin Bieber turned himself in at a Toronto police station yesterday to face possible charges for assaulting a limo driver in December.  If this is true, he’s a jerk and a moron.  The end.

A Bachelor Wedding!!  Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici were married in a live wedding on Sunday.  I’ll admit — I sobbed like a baby.  It was truly the sweetest thing ever!!  Although, I have to say…the Honeymoom Suite Cam?  Too.  Much.

Hugh Grant has apparently fathered Love Child #3.  Big deal, right?  Well….this is where things get weird.

First off, Love Child #3 is apparently a year old now and people are just now finding out about him.  SECONDLY, this child is 3 months OLDER than his second child he had with his ex girlfriend and mother of 2 of his kids.

Do the math.  Someone was up to no good.

Speaking of up to no good, Ramona Singer from RHONY is supposedly divorcing her husband Mario after finding him with his mistress in their Hamptons home.

I have not watched the show in a few seasons, but it has been strongly rumored that he was cheating even back when I watched.  Unfortunately, I think she turned a blind eye.  There are also rumors that she is now dating a younger man (already??) but who knows.

Am I the only one ridiculously excited about Danny, Joey and Uncle Jesse reuniting for Oikos and making the rounds on the talk show circuit?  Oh nostalgia!!

In theaters this week:

Labor Day

The synopsis, according to Movie Insider:

Follows a 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele while confronting all the pangs of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a man both intimidating and clearly in need of help, who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.

I read this book a couple of years ago and it was really great.  From what I see from the trailer, the movie is going to be great too!!

Labor Day is rated PG-13 for thematic material, brief violence and sexuality.

awkwardThat Awkward Moment

The synopsis, according to Movie Insider:

Follows three best friends who find themselves where we’ve all been– at that confusing “moment” in every dating relationship when you have to decide “So…where is this going?”

I have no desire to see this movie.  None.

That Awkward Moment is rated R for sexual content and language.

That’s it for this week!!  Have a fabulous weekend!!

    Katriel says:

I thought the pre-show stuff was a little uncomfortable, but I realize they were trying to make it last longer? But I thought the wedding ceremony was so sweet and I definitely cried too.

  2. 2
    Lyn says:

I haven’t watched RHONY for several years; but isn’t Ramona the one who threw herself a huge “vow renewal” ceremony a few years back?????!!!! Hmmmm, wonder how much of the show is arranged for RATINGS???!

  3. 3
    Marie M.C. says:

Wait. Hold the horses. Hugh Grant just had love child #3? Huh? I never heard about #2. Where have I been? Clearly Hugh is busy sowing his seed and wild oats. At what age?
