This Week in Pop Culture ~ 1/9

PicMonkey CollageSo we’ve taken a lot of time off from Pop Culture over the holidays.

Luckily not much happened worth talking about.

So let’s pick up from this week and move forward.

I was most excited about this…

1389199342_rosamond-pike-ben-affleck-lgGone Girl was one of my most favorite books from 2012, and I couldn’t be more excited about the movie.  Plus, Ben Affleck. So yeah!  The movie hits theaters on October 3, 2014.

Apparently Emma Roberts got engaged to her American Horror Story costar, Evan Peters…

evan-peters-emma-roberts-engagedThere was the time that she reportedly beat him up a while back…hoping there are no more of those incidents.  Good luck to them!

And also Emily Maynard got engaged…

In sad couples news…

1389227874_170451204_matthew-mosshart-kelly-osbourne-467Kelly Osbourne and her fiance Matthew Mosshart have ended their engagement.  The couple have been engaged since July 2013…sorry to hear it.

Also, the People’s Choice Awards were this week…

Also, this week there have been more reports coming out about the Tori and Dean Affair scandal.

toridean.jpg?w=610&h=457By now you have already heard that he “allegedly” had an affair with a girl when he was in Canada on business.  Well, rumors are coming out now that she is PREGNANT!  GASP!

I guess only time will tell…why am I so sad about this?

In theaters this week: Lone Survivor

151690I honestly can’t wait to see this one.  Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitch and a bunch of other cute boys in one place!  PLus it’s an amazing true story.  I saw the trailer for it recently and was bawling. I don’t know how I will make it through, but I am gonna try!

According to Movie Insider, Lone Survivor “tells the story of four Navy SEALs on an ill-fated covert mission to neutralize a high-level Taliban operative who are ambushed by enemy forces in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.”

I hope you guys have a great weekend!

I’m very excited for Gone Girl as well! Did you see that they’re also making a movie adaptation of Dark Places? It’s supposed to come out later this year.

Really I’m just ready for another Gillian Flynn book to be released!

I must admit, I was a little underwhelmed by Gone Girl…BUT…the fact that this is a David Fincher film really makes me want to see it! Oh and because of Ben Affleck ;)

You absolutely must read Lone Survivor if you plan on seeing the movie. I’m sure the movie does justice to the sacrifice of the men involved, but a movie can never do the same as a book. I was so humbled to read it, and I hope more people will discover it because of the movie!
